Season Two of The Jumping Ground aired on September 16, 1998.

In this season, Rob becomes a police officer, Lance gets an evil pet goldfish, Puff finds out his brother Ike is from Canada, and we see the Asgard leader Thor for the first time. This season also has the most episodes up to date, with eighteen episodes.

Series creators Lee Eisenhower and Conrad Vernon mentioned in the Season Three commentaries that they considered this season to be very poor, and Season Two is the only DVD box set to lack commentaries.

The Goa'uld has discovered that Cimmeria is no longer protected by Thor's Hammer, which the kids destroyed to save Skipper, and is enslaving the natives. Their only hope is to somehow contact the mythical Thor and his people.

The kids explore the rather barren and moon-like P5C-353 and brings back a mysterious orb to study. After realizing it is a threat, Puff attempts to throw it through the Groundbridge and return it to P5C-353. However it takes control of him to prevent this, and infects Stamford Gate with a virus.

A film festival comes to Pencaster. After the boys discover it is damaging the town they enlist the help of Chef to try to force the festival out.

Zowie's visions of the former Jolinar of Malkshur lead her and her comrades to a planet where several Tok'ra are hiding. They attempt to form an alliance which isn't going well. Meanwhile Zowie's father, Jacob, is dying from his lymphoma.

The group's only hope for Jacob Hosker to survive, and to ensure the Tau'ri/Tok'ra alliance a success, is for Jacob to undergo an implantation of the Tok'ra Selmak. Meanwhile their base is exposed to the Goa'uld via an operative on the inside.

Lance is infected with deadly venom from a giant insect, and begins a terrible transformation. When he escapes Stamford Gate, Puff must find him before Colonel Maybourne does.

Puff accidentally walks up into a machine which downloads an entire Ancient database into his mind, as well as causing his brain activity to increase. He begins to be unable to speak English but only in a completely new language, Ancient. There is nothing the team can do to prevent the transformation, so Puff is forced to go his own way to save himself.
